Private Health Insurance – Use It Or Lose It

I met a guy the other day who swiped his Private Health Insurance card. His health fund paid nothing. Nada. Niente. Nulla.

I apologetically said ‘I’m sorry, they didn’t pay anything’.

I expected that he would have a bit to say.

To my surprise his response was pure happiness! He was genuinely pleased because he had used his entitlements for the year!

His glass was definitely half full.

A lot of people have used their entitlements for 2019 already.

However, if you haven’t use all your entitlements, make sure you get the best out of your cover!

If you have a physio problem, dental problem, eye problem etc consider looking into it NOW rather than waiting until after the New Year.

If it is a problem we can help with, ring us and we will fit you in (somewhere!!).

On the other hand, if you are someone who used up their entitlements six months ago, are you on the best plan for your needs?

Are you getting your money’s worth for all those premiums that you are paying?

Or are you better off ‘self-funding’ and saving your premiums, just paying out of your own pocket when you need to use a service?

HOT TIP – Not everyone knows that you can have extras cover with a different fund from your hospital cover

Maybe you could look at a different provider for your extras?

Bottom line – make sure you get the best value from your Private Health Insurance.

I wrote a somewhat controversial blog recently on this topic – you can read it here. It’s called ‘Private Health Insurance – Is It Worth It?’
